What Survives

I am an oil painter. I have been one for over thirty years.

That condition is now visible to everyone.

Reproduction has become effortless. Authorship has not.
What cannot be produced is a decision trail that did not occur.

I developed the Direction Provenance Model, a four stage methodology moving from charcoal drawing through 3D modeling, directed AI generation, and final oil painting. Every stage is a recorded human decision. The authorship is not claimed after the fact. It is built into the process before the first mark is made.

The system generates possibilities. I determine what becomes the work through selection and rejection.

My Post-Globalist Landscapes depict land in the presence of changing systems. The terrain absorbs everything, technology, environment, human impact, time. That is where human agency becomes visible.

The decision trail is the proof. The network that records it preserves it as it occurred.

The painting is the settlement. The decision trail is the proof.

This is my position. The work already proves it.
